Critical Incident Stress Management

Traumatic events can strike without warning - whether it is a natural disaster, a workplace accident, or a sudden loss. These moments can deeply affect individuals, teams and entire organisations. That is where we come in: providing immediate, compassionate and expert support when it matters most.

We provide rapid, expert and compassionate psychological support including Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) to help your people feel safe, supported and stabilised in the aftermath of a critical event. Our goal is simple: to help your organisation respond effectively while caring for the wellbeing of those affected.

What is Critical Incident support?

Critical incident support is a structured psychological response to traumatic events in the workplace. Incidents such as sudden deaths, violence, natural disasters, or serious accidents can disrupt teams emotionally and operationally.

Our support typically includes group debriefings, individual counselling and psychoeducation to help people understand their reactions, build coping strategies and access further care if needed. Delivered by trained clinicians, our service helps organisations manage trauma effectively, reduce long-term impact and foster a culture of care and resilience.

What we do

At CiC Wellbeing, we deliver rapid, clinically led psychological care to organisations facing traumatic incidents- anywhere in the world. Whether it’s responding to a sudden death, a violent event, or large-scale disruption, we act quickly to stabilise and support those affected.

How we deliver

Our approach is grounded in internationally recognised trauma models, including Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Critical Incident Stress Management. With a global network of trained responders, we provide culturally sensitive care in any language, onsite or remotely.

Our expertise

Every intervention is tailored to your organisation’s needs. We start with a stakeholder briefing and create a customised incident plan. Support includes structured group sessions to help teams process trauma together, followed by private individual sessions for deeper emotional care. If needed, we connect individuals to our specialist trauma counselling network, offering therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Clinically led response

All responses are clinically overseen and documented. We provide post-incident debriefs and closure reports to ensure transparency and continuous improvement. With nearly 40 years of experience and delivery across 150 countries, organisations trust us to provide expert care when it matters most.
