Happiness at work

For most of us work constitutes a significant proportion of our lives: it has the capacity to be life affirming, rewarding and inspirational; or stressful, undermining and a source of tension.

Given the time we spend working, ideally we want to get more out of it than just paying the bills. Studies show that happy workers are more productive, motivated, healthier and creative. Yet for many the words ‘work’ and ‘happiness’ are unlikely bedfellows and they can’t wait to escape at the end of
the working day. How do we find happiness at work when we are facing unrealistic deadlines, doing battle with challenging managers or feel underappreciated? And how do we create happiness at work?
